All hair tinsel is not created equal! The high quality of tinsel and our meticulous single-strand tie-in method creates a soft, flowing, holographic sparkle that makes any hair color look extra magical. Our tinsel is a 4-ply super strong Mylar that can really take a beating while remaining delicate. Depending on how many you decide to get, the effect can range from a subtle fairy sparkle to a glittering disco ball! Tinsel can be tied into hair that is earlobe-length or longer and can easily last more than 8 weeks. Typically, they shed with the natural hair cycle, or simply slip off with time, but many times they will just grow with your hair! You can always remove them yourself or trim split ends. Currently, we have 16 holographic tinsel colors to choose from.

On each individual hair, we tie one tinsel in a small knot, as close to the head as possible. Some people are chronic skin pickers, and they might be slightly bothered by these tiny knots, but for the most part, it's normal to forget they're even there. You can brush your hair like normal (providing your normal isn't a fine-tooth comb), use heat tools up to 400 degrees, color, bleach, and blow dry all the same! If you find it bothersome for any reason, we can always remove tinsel by hand, or you can simply isolate the tinsel and cut it out. There are no beads, heat-stickers, or glues that would damage your hair with our method, so you can focus on sparkling!

Our maximum for one appointment sitting is 200 tinsel. Our minimum amount is 30 tinsel, so you can choose anywhere between 30 and 200! We suggest newbies who are unsure about hair tinsel  start at 30, but if you know you want to really sparkle right off the bat, 75 tinsel is a great middle of the road amount. How long it takes to install from beginning to end depends on how many tinsel you want! On average, 30 tinsel will take about 45 minutes, but lots of other factors influence that estimate.
